Bealiba Football Club (Vic)
Guernseys & Nicknames :
1904 - Bealiba wore blue and white guernseys.
1924 - Bealiba's colours were maroon and white.
1927-28 - Bealiba's colours were red, with a white strip down the front.
1930 - Bealiba's colours were maroon and white.
1945 - Bealiba's guernsey was red with a white vee, and the team were nicknamed 'the Woodcutters'. Not sure if the nickname was official.
1946-48 - Bealiba wore a red guernsey with a white vee.
1949 - Bealiba wore black and white stripes.
1980-2000 - Bealiba wore red guernseys with a white vee, and were known as the Swans.

1873 :
The first 'official' Bealiba football club existed in 1873, competing in what seems to have been a pre-cursor to the North-West Division.
Bealiba played Dunolly in a 'friendly match', on a Friday afternoon, August 8.
1883 - There was a football match this year, at Bealiba.
1892 - Bealiba football club existed in 1892.
1904 :
Bealiba were in a league that had remarkable similarities to the Loddon Valley FL.
Bealiba played Goldsborough and Dunolly more often than they played the other teams, due to a quirk of the draw.
1912 - Bealiba was playing in 'the same Saint Arnaud competition' as in 1930.
1921 - Bealiba were represented by their own team, and also by Bealiba Rovers, in their own league (Bealiba FL?).
1922 - Bealiba were represented by two teams, Bealiba Band and Bealiba Rovers, in their own league (Bealiba FL?).
1924 - Maryborough DFL : Bealiba's commenced.
1925 - Maryborough DFL Grand Final : Carisbrook 7.8.50 defeated Bealiba 6.11.47.
1926 - Maryborough DFL : Bealiba were runners-up.
1927 - Maryborough DFL Grand Final : Bealiba 4.8.32 defeated Bristol Hill 4.5.29.
1928 - Maryborough DFL Grand Final : Bealiba 9.5.59 defeated Clunes 6.10.46.
1929 - Bealiba failed to make the Maryborough DFL four.
1930 (Kara Kara JFA) :
Bealiba commenced in the Kara Kara JFA.
Bealiba were 4th (last) after H&As.
Second Semi-Final - Kooreh 9.17.71 defeated Bealiba 5.5.35 @ King Georges Park.
1931 - Kara Kara JFA : Bealiba participated, though the league wound up early.
1932 :
Bealiba rejoined the Maryborough DFL.
Grand Final v Dunolly :
- 1/4 time : Scores unknown.
- 1/2 time : Bealiba 4.6, Dunolly 9.3,
- 3/4 time : Bealiba 6.10 Dunolly 10.3,
- Full time : Bealiba 10.13.73 Dunolly 15.7.97.
1933 - Maryborough FL Grand Final : Dunolly 9.14.68 defeated Bealiba 7.11.53.
1936 - Bealiba did not field a football team this year.
1937 - Kara Kara FL : Bealiba commenced.
1938 - Kara Kara FL : Bealiba's final season in this league.
1940 - It was noted that Bealiba Park had not hosted a football match for the last 3 years.
<-1940 - Bealiba played Campbelltown, having travelled three times to away matches there. Bealiba also played Bristol Hill on just the one occasion, at Maryborough Showgrounds.
1940s - Bealiba played a match against Saint Arnaud, hosted by Emu. Another match between the same two towns was played in a fallowed paddock in front of the railway station at Carapooee. A further match was played between Bealiba and Kooreh.
1943 :
There was an 'old versus young' football match at bealiba, which the Old team won.
Later on, there was a girls football match.
Bealiba played Emu at one stage this year.
1945 :
Bealiba once again joined the Maryborough DFL.
Bealiba, playing at home, once beat Dunolly while Bealiba fielded only 14 players.
1946 :
Bealiba was in the MDFL.
They dropped out after the first round, as per the rules.
At some stage they played a match against Bushy Park.
1947 (Maryborough DFL) :
Second last round - Bealiba easily defeated top spot team Dunolly.
Last round - Dunolly lost again in the last round to a very lowly placed team, which somehow caused Bealiba to miss out on making the four.
1948 (Maryborough DFL) :
Home and Away season - P&N had a 2-1 lead in the three home and away meetings with Bealiba.
Second semi Final - P&N 11.11.77 defeated Bealiba 9.14.68 at Princes Park (Maryborough). P&N may have had their stocks boosted by Ballarat FL Maryborough players.
Preliminary Final - Primrose 8.14.62 defeated Bealiba 5.4.34.
1949 - Loddon Valley FL : According to 'The Bealiba Book', Bealiba may have made the finals.
1950 - Loddon Valley FL : Bealiba made the finals.
1951 (Loddon Valley FL) :
Bealiba were undefeated afer H&As.
Grand Final - Inglewood 11.11.77 defeated Bealiba 9.11.65.
1952 (Loddon Valley FL) :
Preliminary Final - Bealiba defeated Inglewood.
Grand Final - Bealiba 10.14.74 defeated Serpentine 9.8.62 @ Bridgewater.
1952--> - In addition, somewhere prior to 1962, Bealiba at one stage played football on Redbank's ground. They also played at least once at Waterloo.
1953 - Loddon Valley FL : Bealiba made the finals.
1954-55 - Loddon Valley FL : Bealiba participated, perhaps didn't make the finals.
1956 - Loddon Valley FL : Bealiba participated.
1957-61 - Loddon Valley FL : Bealiba gradually lost players and became less competitive.
1961 - Bealiba merged with Natte Yallock after this season, and up through until 2001, Bealiba has been a part of the Natte Bealiba Football Club.
