This league merged with the Lexton FL at the end of the 1998 season, to form the Lexton Plains FL.
All WPFL teams crossed directly over to the new league, with the exception of :
 - Derrinallum, who merged with Lismore, became Lismore-Derrinallum, and moved to the Mininera & DFL, and
 - Cressy, who went into recess.
