Timeline :
1927/28 :
Participating clubs were (complete) :
 - Magpies (one, early, match only),
 - Vesteys,
 - Wanderers and
 - Waratahs (one, early, match only).
Vesteys were easily the most successful team of what turned out to be a two-team competition.

1928/29 :
Participating clubs were (complete) :
 - Bachelors and
 - Married Men.
This league folded shortly into its season.

1935/36 :
The Darwin FL, unrelated to that previous, commenced.
The league was a 15-a-side competiton.
Founding clubs were :
 - Garrison,
 - Palmerston (this season only) and
 - Waratahs.
Finals Series :
 - Semi Final - Garrison defeated Waratahs.
 - Final - Garrison 6.16.52 defeated Palmerston 4.16.40.
 - Grand Final - Garrison 11.6.72 defeated Palmerston 4.6.30.
