1873 - Saint Kilda were known as the Seagulls.
Early - Saint Kilda were known as the Seasiders.
Current - Saint Kilda were known as the Saints.
Up to 1990s - Saint Kilda guernseys were red, white and black panels.
1990s--> - Saint Kilda wore the same colours, but in a cross-like, or shield-like, design, on the front of the guernsey.
Timeline :
1858 - A Saint Kilda FC was formed, apparently not the same club as that which came existed from 1873.
1873 :
A South Yarra FC merged with a Saint Kilda Cricketers Club to form the Saint Kilda FC.
Teams playing each other in 1873 included Hawthorn, Studley Park, Carlton Imperial, Essendon, East Melbourne, Carlton 2nd 20, Saint Kilda, Southern, Williamstown, Collingwood and North Melbourne.
'Principal clubs' of the year were listed as Albert Park, Carlton, Collingwood, East Melbourne, Essendon, Hawthorn, Melbourne, North Melbourne, Richmond, Saint Kilda, Southern, South Yarra and Studley Park.
Though the VJFA had not yet commenced, Saint Kilda finished roughly 4th among junior teams.
1875 - Hawthorn played against Clifton, Melbourne, Carlton, Kilmore, East Melbourne, Carlton Imperial, Jolimont, Williamstown, Saint Kilda, Brunswick, Essendon, Albert Park, Kyneton, West Melbourne, Southern Rifles and South Melbourne.
1876 - Hawthorn played against Clifton, Kilmore, Jolimont, East Melbourne, Saint Kilda, West Melbourne, Essendon, Kyneton, Carlton, Victoria Parade, Saint Kilda Alma, Melbourne, Brunswick.

Hawthorn played matches against Kilmore, Saint Kilda, West Melbourne, Melbourne, Hotham, Northcote, Victorian Railways, Carlton, Essendon.
Saint Kilda was also a founding member of the VFA.
