1896 (Sack Trophy) :^[source]
General - The Sack Trophy seemed to represent the competition aspect of the newly formed governing body for Stawell's junior teams; the Stawell FA.
Participating clubs were (complete) :
 - Fire Brigade,
 - Mercantile,
 - Ramblers,
 - Stawell and
 - Stawell Jrs.
The season was not completed in 1896, and essentially restarted anew in 1897.

1897 (Sack Trophy) :^[source]
The Sack Trophy competition was essentially restarted, overwriting the previous season.
Participating clubs were (complete) :
 - Fire Brigade (2nd),
 - Mercantile and
 - Union (premiers).

1898 (WJ Sullivan Trophy) :^[source]
The W J Sullivan Trophy replaced the Sack Trophy.
Participating clubs were (complete) :
 - Federal,
 - Fire Brigade,
 - Imperial,
 - Mercantile (premiers) and
 - Union.
